Having William Home...

It has been SO nice having William home! He got home friday afternoon and we went out to eat to celebrate! We had a great time hanging out Saturday once I got off work and Sunday we tried out a new church that we really liked! William was accepted in the summer medical student research project so he will start on June 6th. This coming weekend is his sister's high school graduation and memorial day weekend so I'll be sure to get some pictures! Hope everyone has a great week!

Williamless

Well, I've made it this far without my husband here by my side! William left on Mother's Day for Elizabeth City and I have done pretty well here in Winston by myself. I sure do miss him though! He should be coming home to me this Friday!!!!! I talk to him every night and he is working hard but having fun also! To not be by myself, I went home last saturday once i got off work and I got to go out with Lauryn (here's the most recent pic of us from the wedding):

Sunday, I spent the day with my mom. We met my grandma for lunch at Zaxbys and then we went to Verizon where I got this:

Yes, a new White iPhone 4!!! I am sooo excited. Will William kill me when he gets back? Possibly.

LOL After that we had to go get my car inspected which should have been a quick stop but that turned into forever because they only had like two people working and the car in front of us had 8 things wrong with it. Finally once we were done we went to Jcpennys and did a little shopping and then picked my dad up and went out to eat. It was nice to spend time with my parents and just get to do what we wanted. I drove back here to Winston yesterday morning and I'm working the week away until William comes HOME!

Mother's Day Mishap

What a crazy weekend! William and I woke up early last Saturday and got all of his things together and packed for his 2-week trip to Elizabeth City. He had to go for one week back in October and he'll have to go for another week this November but for this month he will be there for TWO WEEKS. That's half a month. Yikes. He has to do a course called CPE (community practice experience) where all the students rotate with their assigned physician somewhere in NC. He loves where he was placed and it's really nice that they get to rotate with the same physician all 3 times so they can establish a relationship.

Anywho, Saturday we went to my parents house to spend the night so that I could be with my mom on mothers day and so that William could leave Sunday. The trip is about 5 1/2 hours from our house in Winston but he likes to break it up (by staying the night in Raleigh) so that he only has to drive about 3 hours from there. I had already decided that I was also gonna spend the night on Sunday night to give me more time with my parents and just drive back Monday morning for work. So on Mother's day I went to church with my mom and then out to eat with my family afterwards (here's a picture of my mom and I at church):

We were all relaxing at home and my phone rang and William was freaking out saying that his tire had just blown out while he was driving over an overpass. Of course I start freaking b/c he was freaking and my parents and I hopped in the car and drove out to meet him where he was pulled off the road. The spare tire in his trunk was worthless and of course everything was closed b/c it was like 6:00 on mother's day sunday and so my dad changed his tire and he had to drive all the way back to my parents' house. Everything was closed so we had no option except for waiting until Monday morning to get it fixed. We got everything handled monday morning and William got to Elizabeth city around 3:00. I just took the day off and spent it with my mom and grandma after he left and I drove straight to work this morning. It was a crazy weekend and I'm glad that William finally made it safely. I'm also glad that I got to spend time with my mom and even though we had that mishap the attention was not shifted from my her so it was still a successful mother's day!

Weekend Recap

William is DONE with classes for the M1 year! He has one more "exam" at the end of this week that is called a SPA exam. He has to go to the hospital wednesday afternoon and get a case and he has until Friday to figure out what the problem is and how to treat it. He then has to go back friday afternoon and present his findings and he receives his grade. Then, this sunday, he leaves to go back to Elizabeth City for 2 weeks this time. He had to go for a week in October and it wasn't too bad but now it will be for 2 weeks. Sigh....

We had a very relaxing weekend that was much needed for William since he just had two exams back to back. Saturday I had to work but once I got home we made lunch and went out for along walk. There is a greenway behind our house that we love to walk but it continues so far that we have never seen where it actually ends. So saturday we drove halfway and continued walking and it ends in a beautiful neighborhood that reminded us alot of keith hills (a community at campbell that is great for walks). We had a great time and then we rented a movie and a game for the wii and had a fun night in!

Saturday we got up and tried a new church with our friend Meredith. OF COURSE no pictures so here's a picture of us in Africa:

Meredith had been there a few times so we tried it with her and it was so nice! We went out to eat afterwards at cracker barrell and it was so much fun. William and I came back and had a nice sunday afternoon nap and then we ran errands. It was so nice to spend a civilized, non-studying, weekend together and it was a great start to our week!
